Pacific Northwest leaders to discuss new rail line, potentially through western Wisconsin

A conference scheduled for October 14-17 in Portland, Oregon will address plans for a new passenger rail line that could run through western Wisconsin.

The Pacific Northwest Rail Summit is being held in conjunction with the Build Northwest Economic Forum. The meetings are open to the public and parts will be available virtually.

All Aboard Northwest, a rail advocacy group, is working to promote the North Coast Limited route corridor connecting from Seattle thru Montana to Minnesota, Wisconsin and Chicago. This map indicates a route through Eau Claire:
