Traffic? Or Trains?
Heading to the Twin Cities? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could kick back and relax, play a game or watch a show on your laptop, rather than fighting traffic and searching for parking?
It could happen. And you can help make daily train service between the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin a reality.
We are closer than ever to bringing daily train service to Eau Claire, Menomonie, Baldwin, and Hudson. But we need your help.
What You Can Do
The Twin Cities-Western Wisconsin rail line received a federal grant to begin work on this project. We’ve finished the first step and are now ready to move on to step two- the Service Development Plan that is the main feasibility study that would take the plans forward towards service starting. But, while Washington will provide 90% of the money for step two planning, we need to come up with the other 10%.
State lawmakers have approved and the governor has signed into law a new two-year budget. We need you to contact your state lawmakers and tell them you want trains instead of traffic.

a rail line that actually generates more revenue than it spends

WHY RAIL?
There are many benefits to passenger rail including economic expansion, higher productivity, better safety, and a smaller impact on the environment compared to other options.
